The Heywood Thomas Band
The Heywood Thomas Band is used for showcasing songs from the LunarLandings Publishing Company's catalogue, consisting of pop-rock songs, country songs, new age, and more. All songs are available for song placement for TV (commercials) and film. The Band is an umbrella name that includes all participating musicians involved in the Heywood Thomas project and its original songs by the artist Tom Haeberle.
The band's name is inspired by Tom's favorite singer, Justin Hayward of the Moody Blues, and a character from a favorite movie — 2001: A Space Odyssey — whose name is Dr. Heywood Floyd. The last name is a nod to Pink Floyd (another fictitious name), with the first name Heywood honoring both that film and Justin Hayward. By dropping Floyd and adding the name Thomas, the Heywood Thomas Band was born.
